What does the following symbol mean ? +

We refer to this symbol as the Personal Impact icon. If an action has this Personal Impact icon, it means your Personal Impact may go up if you complete that action. The number inside the icon is the total number of points you could receive for finishing the action. However, you may not always get the full number of points. For example, the icon may show that you will get 10 points for completing a friend's profile. But if part of your friend's profile is already complete, you'll only receive points for the new info you provide. Remember, the Personal Impact icon represents potential points for completing an action.

What is Personal Impact™?

Personal Impact is a scoring tool that shows your contribution to Team Toomey. When you perform an action for Team Toomey your Personal Impact can go up. Your Personal Impact can also go up when the friends you recruit perform actions. For example, if you recruit Jane to join the network, and Jane invites a few of her own friends, not only does her Personal Impact go up but so does yours! What are some things I can do to get Personal Impact™?

To get Personal Impact™, you can recruit new people into the community, log in to the network daily, join groups, join teams, fill out your profile, post in message boards, and more!

What is considered cheating, and what are the consequences?

Practices considered to be cheating include the following:

  1. Sending invitations to bogus emails or accounts
  2. Setting up a script or other agent which automatically performs actions in the network
  3. Any other fraudulent action undertaken using the network or in relation to the network, especially in order to amass Personal Impact™

The consequences of cheating include:

  1. Deduction of Personal Impact™ or resetting of Personal Impact™ to zero
  2. Disqualification from all contests and/or prizes
  3. Termination of network accounts

I completed an action, but I didn't receive Impact. Why not?

You receive Personal Impact™ for actions that help spread the word about Team Toomey. For example, recruiting someone brand new into the community always helps spread the word. So you'll receive Personal Impact. Creating a lot of groups just to boost your Personal Impact does not help spread the word (it just clutters the community!). So you may not get Impact for actions like these, or you may receive limited impact.

I no longer receive impact when joining groups. Why?

Since you are already involved in the community and have joined a number of groups, you're not making as much of an Impact by simply joining more. This doesn't mean you should stop joining groups that interest you. However, you can make a bigger impact by becoming more involved in the groups of which you're already a member! A couple of great ways to do this are posting to message boards and attending group events.

Why don't I get my impact immediately?

For certain tasks, you get Personal Impact™ after your friend takes action. For example, when you invite a brand new person to join the network, your Personal Impact only goes up after your friend accepts the invitation.

My friend accepted my invite, but I didn't get impact. Why not?

Remember, you only get impact for inviting BRAND NEW people to join the community. These are your "Recruits". If the person you invite to join is already a member of the community, you won't receive Impact when they accept your invite. These people are your "Friends".

What are Achievement Levels?

Achievement levels are a way to rank people based on their overall impact. You move to a higher level the more Personal impact you get.

How do I change my Interests?

You can change your interests by editing your personal profile. This lets people know how you're interested in helping... or what you're interested in generally. Don't forget to save the changes you make and check back from time to time to update your interests.

How do I join Coalitions?

There are a number of Teams available for you to join. From the top navigation, simply click Teams. Once you join a Team, you can search for news, upcoming events, and other team members. Your Personal Impact will contribute to the Team's impact as well!

How do I invite others to Team Toomey

To invite others into the network, click the Invite Friends box in the navigation or go to the Friends dropdown and select Invite Friends. You will be asked to enter an individual's full name and email address. You can also customize your own personal message before sending the invite to your friend.

Can I update my contact information?

Yes, you can update your contact information at any time from your Profile page. Click Edit Profile and click on Contact Information. Don't forget to Save Changes each time you update your contact information.

How do I set/change my RSVP status for a certain event?

You can find events in your area from the Get Involved tab. To see all upcoming events close to you, enter your area code and click Refresh. RSVP for events and return to the events page to change your RSVP status.

What are the different features available on Team Toomey?

There are a number of things that Team Toomey lets you do. To begin exploring, use the navigation located at the top of each page. Below is an overview of the main sections:


Dashboard
Your Dashboard gives you a snapshot of the latest happenings - news, action alerts, etc. Here you can access your personal profile, update your latest contact information, add a photo of yourself, change your involvement interests, and more.

Get Involved
The Get Involved tab is where you find teams you can join and events you can attend. You can also create personal groups from this tab and invite others to join your group.

Messages
Write your friends, view messages you've received, even see what you sent a friend last week. Your Message Center logs all your Team Toomey correspondence with friends. Check back often so that you don't miss personal messages from friends or valuable tidbits of info.

Friends
Trying to remember who is in your personal network of friends? You can scroll through to see everyone you're connected to in Team Toomey. You also can find friends using the Search field in the navigation bar.

Media
Seen something you like in the community? Want to find more of it? The Media tab is where we store assets for you to take a look at and download (pictures, documents, video, etc.).

How do I log in with Facebook Connect?

To log in with Facebook Connect you must ensure the email you use on Team Toomey is also registered with your Facebook account. To do this, either add that email to your profile here on Team Toomey or add it to your Facebook profile. Then, click the "Login with Facebook" link on the Team Toomey log in page to use Facebook Connect!
